OCTM's Professional Development Cadre(PDC): With the adoption of Oregon's K-8 Core Standards for Mathematics and the continued work with the 9-12 Core Standards for Mathematics, how will classroom teachers learn about the new mathematics standards? How will teachers transition from the 2002 math standards to the 2007 math standards? To answer these questions, visit the PDC page to download the flyer listing 2009-'10 PDC Offerings. The Oregon Department of Education (ODE) offered three sets of regional workshops called Building Math Instructional Leaders Across Oregon throughout the school year and the Moving Math Education Forward and Math Coaching Institutes were also offered during the summer of 2009. Illuminations: A valuable resource from NCTM, provides extensive internet resources to illuminate the Standards. Ready to use lessons show best practices in teaching, video vignettes, Web resources, etc.

NCTM Focal Points: Choose this site to download a copy of the Curriculum Focal Points documents (For NCTM Members only). Also found on the OCTM site is a brief overview of this document synopsized by Cathy Brown and Jon Wiens.

Problem Solving — A position paper from the Southern Oregon Math Cadre. (OCTM welcomes Position Papers from Oregon Mathematics Groups, as well as responses to published position papers.)
