This page is dedicated to the recognition of outstanding math educators throughout the state of Oregon. If you would like to nominate a teacher for one of these awards, please download and print out a copy of the application form.

Oregon Math Education Awards
Each year the OCTM Executive Board gives two annual awards to recognize and honor teachers and leaders. The Recipients exemplify the spirit and dedication of two of Oregon's outstanding mathematics teachers: Mildred Bennett and Oscar Schaaf.

The Mildred Bennett Elementary Math Education Award

The Mildred Bennett Award is given to an elementary or middle school
teacher. This year the award was given to Nancy Anderson, a math consultant and
former Title I Math Teacher for the Salem School District.

The Oscar Schaaf Secondary  Mathematics Education Award

The award is given to a middle, high or college teacher
and this year's winner is Fred Board , who is a consultant working for
Teachers Dvelopment Group.

The Oregon Hall of Fame Award

OCTM also gives a third award, the hall of Fame Award, when
appropriate. This year Jim Specht was voted into the Mathematics
Hall of Fame.
